Moving on...

Wow. Two weeks since Ive posted.. but I have been so distracted. Im so hyped about this move to Chicago, and the fact that Ill be starting school and living out my dream.. ahhhhh! Got to love it! I have completed my FAFSA and have gotten an estimated approval amount which for this first program will leave me with a $3200 balance to cover. So I have been on my scholarship hunt and applying like crazy.

At 30, I feel so lost in the process! I am grateful for my financial aid counselor and her patience! Good thing im learning all this now, my oldest has 2 more years left of high school!

So I will be attending The French Pastry School (City Colleges of Chicago - Kennedy-King Campus). The L'Art de la Patisserie Program is 24 weeks and $22,000 and the L'Art du Gateau is 6 weeks and $16,000. That is the program ill be starting with. Then Ill move on to the main program. Not only will I be going to school for something I love, but in a city I love as well!

in a nutshell

You know everytime I begin to explain something "in a nutshell" it turns out to be a long drawn out detailed book! lol but Ima try and do that here anyway!

So I started this entry off with a thought in mind and after today... my minds focus has deterred as usual! Just sitting here reflecting on life.. where I've been, who I've met and where Im going. Im excited. Im scared. But for once I feel free. Like the chains that bound me for so long have been broken and now this light of life is upon me!!!! Hallelujah! lol
So my big brilliant plan is to move to Chicago (my stepping stone to NY) go to school for Pastry Arts at the French Culinary Pastry Art School (which I visited on my last Chicago trip, 2009) work, build my skill, increase my knowledge and gain experience so I can eventually make my NY DREAMS a reality!

So, I think I want to blog...

because I have so much to say and I have alot going through my head ... why not? right?
hmmm, well I guess this will be my test as I have a poetry blog, a business blog and a soon to come Instructional food prep blog.
So, who am I. I am Jasara. 30 years old, mother of three, Radiology scheduler, amature baker who is aspiring to become a Master Cake Decorator.... *sigh*... married to a failing marriage, daughter, sister and aunt. Amongst other things.
Im just finding self recently.. the process started 4 yrs ago... I laugh thinking about that. Man four years is a long time but I guess when you are already in a life created, its a small fraction of time. Anyway, 4 years ago I knew something had to change and if it didnt, mysery would follow me all the days of my life. I was in a bad situation with my husband, family life was only picture perfect to the outside world. No one knew what life was like nor had been like for the past 9 years. Not that details are necessary now but lets just say, it was time for change and change in self was where it had to start. it was a slow process in the beginning. Doubting, wondering, stressing, but I only grew stronger thru each month, each year and now I feel I am finally in control of my life. For once. So 2010, you are mine! Documenting my Journey into self, into a new career, into a new me! Im excited for me! Arent you? :)
